Mankato, Minn. –Minnesota State was able to muster just two wins as #10 St. Cloud State put a damper on the final home dual of the season by a score of 32-7. With the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference setback, the Mavericks are now 8-5-0 on the season, 3-3-0 in conference action.
Minnesota State started the dual strong, receiving a 10-2 major decision victory from junior Andy Forstner (Madelia, Minn.) at 125 pounds. The win pushes Forstner’s season mark to 18-9.
The Huskies dominated from there, picking up eight straight wins in the heart of the order. The Maverick’s senior three-time All-American Brady Wilson (Faribault, Minn.) concluded the dual with his 18th consecutive victory, this one a 6-3 decision over #6 Jacob Kahnke. Wilson improves to 25-4 on the season with the win.
The Mavericks close out the regular season tomorrow in Marshall, Minn., with an NSIC match against Southwest Minnesota State. Match time is slated for 3:00 p.m.
