About the MSU-UAA Series: MSU continues Western Collegiate Hockey Association action this Friday and Saturday with a pair of road contests at Alaska-Anchorage. In a series that dates back to 1982-83, the Mavericks are 33-20-6 all-time vs. the Seawolves. MSU went 3-1 vs. UAA last year and is 9-2-1 in the last 11 games with the Seawolves. Senior defenseman Kurt Davis (2-7--9 in 11 GP) is MSU’s active scoring leader vs. UAA and head coach Troy Jutting is 26-9-5 all-time vs. UAA.
MSU Recently: Minnesota State stands 1-2-3 overall and is 1-2-1 WCHA after splitting a home Western Collegiate Hockey Association series with #19 Colorado College. The Mavericks picked up their first win of the season Friday with a 5-4 victory over the visiting Tigers before dropping a 1-0 decision Saturday. Senior defenseman Kurt Davis (1-6--7 in 6 GP) leads the Mavericks in scoring and sophomore netminder Phil Cook, who is 1-1-1 with a .901 save percentage and a 3.46 goals against average, started both games vs. Colorado College.
About Alaska Anchorage: UAA, which returns 15 letterwinners from last year’s team which went 11-23-5 overall and was 9-17-2 WCHA, stands 1-4-1 overall (0-2-0 WCHA) for the year after falling twice at third-rated Minnesota-Duluth.
The Seawolves, who fell by 3-2 and 6-0 margins to the Bulldogs, are led by senior forward
