MANKATO, Minn. --- A total of 11 Minnesota State men's hockey players have been invited to NHL training camps, with the regular season set to begin on Sept. 29.
 
Tyler Pitlick (Minnesota Wild)
Hailing from Minneapolis, Minn., Tyle Pitlick is entering his 12th season in the NHL. Last season, Pitlick played in 32 games for the Minnesota Wild, where he scored a pair of goals. In total, Pitlick has played in 452 games during his career and has notched 58 goals and 53 assists for 111 career points.
 
Sam Morton (Calgary Flames)
Hailing from Layfaette, Colo., Sam Morton led the Mavericks with 24 goals and 34 points during his final season at Minnesota State in 2023-24. After wrapping up his career with the Mavericks, Morton signed with the Calgary organization. During the last three seasons, Morton has played in 171 games for the Calgary Wranglers where he has notched 42 goals and 48 assists. He has also played four games with the Calgary Flames, including three games during the 2025-26 season.
 
Wyatt Aamodt (Colorado Avalanche)
A defenseman from Hermantown, Minn., Wyatt Aamodt played in 123 games (2018-22) during his four seasons with the Mavericks as he tallied 10 goals and 19 assists. For the past five seasons, Aamodt has played with the Colorado Eagles and has tallied 17 goals and 73 assists. He made his NHL debut with the Colorado Avalanche during the 2024-25 season where he played in two games and scored a goal.
 
Brendan Furry (Tampa Bay Lightning)
A forward from Toledo, Ohio, Brendan Furry played in 11 games for the Mavericks during his three seasons (2020-23) where he tallied 27 goals and 58 assists. After his career with the Mavericks, Furry played three seasons with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. In 121 games with the Phantoms, he posted 17 goals and 23 assists. Last season, Furry signed with the Syracuse Crunch were he recorded 14 goals and 14 assists in 58 games played.
 
Walker Duehr (Winnipeg Jets)
A forward from Sioux Falls, S.D., Walker Duehr finished his four seasons with the Mavericks with 25 goals and 26 assists during his career with the Mavericks (2017-21). Duehr would sign with the Stockton Heat in 2020 and would make his NHL debut a year last with the Calgary Flames. Since 2021, Duehr has played in 95 NHL games, splitting time with the Calgary Flames, San Jose Sharks and the Winnipeg Jets. Last season, Duehr played in 62 games with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL where he recorded 17 goals and 17 assists. He would also play in three games with the Winnipeg Jets.
 
Rhett Pitlick (Edmonton Oilers)
A forward from Coral Springs, Fla., Rhett Pitlick played in 39 games during his lone season (2024-25) with the Mavericks where he posted 13 goals and 27 assists. Pitlick joined the Bakersfield Condors during the 2024-25 season and has played in 66 games during the last two seasons. With the Condors, Pitlick has tallied eight goals and 21 assists.
 
Alex Tracy (Vegas Golden Knights)
A goaltender from Chicago, Ill., Alex Tracy wrapped up his four-year career (2022-26) with Minnesota State last season. Tracy finished his career with a 66-33-14 record as he boasted a career save percentage of .927 and a 1.87 goals against average. In 2025, Tracy was named a finalist for the Mike Richter Award and was named the CCHA Player and Goaltender of the Year. He eventually went on to earn AHCA/CCM All-American Second Team West honors. Last season, he played in two games with the Tahoe Knight Monsters.
 
Connor Mackey (Chicago Blackhawks)
A defenseman from Tower Lake, Ill., Connor Mackey played in 118 games during his three season at Minnesota State (2017-20) where he posted 18 goals and 43 assists. Since the 2020-21 season, Mackey has played in 45 games in the NHL splitting time with the Calgary Flames, Arizona Coyotes and the New York Rangers. Last season in the Rangers organization, Mackey played in 62 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) where he tallied five goals and 13 assists. He also played in three games with the Rangers.
 
Teddy Blueger (Toronto Maple Leafs)
A forward from Riga, Latvia, Teddy Blueger played four seasons at Minnesota State (2012-16) where he tallied 31 goals and 77 assists in 155 games. Bluegar made his NHL debut during the 2018-19 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins and has played in 453 games during his eight-year career, splitting time with Pittsburgh Vegas and Vancouver. He has tallied 58 goals and 111 assists for 169 career points.
 
Nathan Smith (Florida Panthers)
A forward from Tampa, Fla., Nathan Smith recorded 37 goals and 65 assists during his three seasons (2019-22) at Minnesota State. Smith would make his NHL debut with the Arizona Coyotes during the 2021-22 season where he recorded two goals and two assists in 10 games. Last season, Smith played in 64 games with the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) where he notched 12 goals and 19 assists.
 
Jake Livingstone (Calgary Flames)
A defenseman from Creston, B.C., Jake Livingstone recorded 21 goals and 59 assists during his three seasons at Minnesota State (2020-23). After wrapping up his career with the Mavericks, Livingstone made his NHL debut in 2023 with the Nashville Predators where he played in five games and recorded an assist. This past season, Livingstone played in 52 games with the Charlotte Checkers where he posted three goals and 14 assists.
