MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's and women's track and field teams won several events at the
Tim Marshall Open Saturday at the Mark Schuck Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
The Minnesota State men's and women's track and field teams continue their season on May 7-9 as they compete at the NSIC Championships in Duluth, Minn.
Women
The 100m event saw
Madison Hubbard finish second with a time of 11.93 which ranks 67th in Division II this season.
Norah D'almeida recorded a time of 11.92 in the prelims as well. The 100m hurdles saw
Esaba Okwaramoi take second place with a time of 13.64, while
Miranda Lauvstad finished third with a time of 14.02.
Grace Hambel won the 400m event with a time of 57.46.
Addison Peed won the 800m event with a time of 2:20.56, with her teammate
Gianna Figueroa following right behind in second with a time of 2:20.66.
Amanda Overgaauw led the Mavericks in the 1,500m event as she took second with a time of 4:51.91.
Tara Hertling followed in third place with a time of 4:56.68 as well.
Aubri Brown won both the discus (47.30m, 155-2) and hammer throw (56.81, 186-4) events, with her throw in the discus ranking 27th in Division II.
Lauvstad led the field in the long jump event as she posted a jump of 6.58m (21-7.25) which ranks first in Division II.
Jordin McGee followed in second with a jump of 6.15m (20-2.25) which ranks eighth in Division II.
Lilian Washington won the triple jump event also with a jump of 12.73m (41-9.25) which is the fourth best jump in Division II.
The 4x100 relay team of
Chantel Reiland, Lauvstad, McGee and D'almeida turned in a time of 46.00 as well.
Men
Keaton Wattier led the way in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.97, which ranks 14th in Division II.
Kenjuan Hampton won the 200m event with a time of 21.13 which ranks 45th in Division II.
The 400m hurdles saw
Diego Sekiyama-Nava posted a time of 52.78 which ranks 40th in Division II.
Grant Mayers took second in the 800m event with a personal best of 1:55.00, while
Jack Sorenson notched a personal best time of 4:00.06 in the 1,500m to finish first.
Riley Kopp won the 3,000m steeplechase as well with a time of 10:08.76.
Hayden Bills won the shot put (19.08m, 62-7.25) and discus (55.69m, 182-9) events, with his throw in the shot put ranking second in Division II.
Terrence Thomas led the way in the long jump with a jump of 7.45m (24-5.5) which ranks 13th in Division II.
Hugo Albanese notched the 14th best DII jump in the high jump with a mark of 2.10m (6-10.75).
Sheldon McNicholas turned in a first place finish in the triple jump with a jump of 15.30m (50-2.5) that ranks 10th in DII.
Colin Windorski won the pole vault event, with a vault of 4.84m (15-10.5).
