Mavericks Open Outdoor Home Schedule at Stomper Open

MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's and women's track and field teams won several events in their outdoor home opener Wednesday at the Stomper Open.
 
Women

Brianna Shroyer won the 200m event with a time of 24.94 and was followed by her teammates Grace Obour (25.09) and Kenyatta Grate (25.48) in second and third. Grate's time of 25.48 was a personal best. Shroyer then followed up with another first place finish in the 400m event as she posted a season-best time of 56.78. Obour again followed in second with a time of 57.80.

Isabell Renlund won the 1,500m event with a time of 5:12.64 and was followed by Danielle Malone in second with a personal best time of 5:16.34.

In the discus, Elise Jensen recorded a season-best and the 17th longest throw in Division II with a throw of 47.26m (155-1). Aubri Brown followed in second place with a throw of 46.54m (152-8) which is the 27th best in Division II this season. Brown would win the hammer throw event with a throw of 53.80m (176-8), with Lauren Bird following in third place with a throw of 52.04m (170-09). Brown would also take first place in the shot put with a throw of 12.70m (41-8).

Ghada Hamdani won both the long jump (5.89m, 19-4) and the triple jump (12.85 m (42-2) events, with her jumps ranking 10th and 2nd in Division II, respectively. Lillian Washington recorded the fourth best mark in the DII triple jump with a jump of 12.60m (41-4.25), while Bianca Bertolotti posted the 10th best mark in the DII long jump with a jump of 5.86m (19-2.75).

Elvira Collvin and Willow Oehmichen won the pole vault with vaults of 3.65m (11-11.75).
 
Men

Rinaldo Moore posted the fastest time in 110m hurdles in Division II with a time of 13.67. Kerdel Moses posted the fifth fastest time in the division with a time of 13.88, while Kenjaun Hampton recorded the seventh fastest at 13.92. Hampton also won the 100m with a time of 10.63.

Quinton Ellis won the 200m event with the 10th fastest time in DII with a time of 20.98. Diego Sekiyama-Nava won the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.38 also. Grant Mayers won the 800m event with a time of 1:55.82 also, while Luke Scholtes took first in the 1,500m event with a time of 4:02.69.

Sheldon McNicholas set the standard in the triple jump as he took first with a jump of 15.17m (49-9.25) which is the seventh longest jump in Division II this season. Terrence Thomas finished second in the long jump with DII's 15th longest of the season at 7.27 m (23-10.25). Hugo Albanese won the high jump event as well, with a jump of 2.07m (6-9.25).

In the pole vault, Collin Windorski and Nicholas Tucker won the event with vaults of 4.61m (15-1.50).

Dylan Gross won the discus event with the 11th best throw in DII (53.38, 175-1). Hayden Bills followed in second with the 15th best throw of 52.91m (173-7). Bills would win the shot put event with a throw of 18.52m, with Gross following in second with a throw of 16.81m (55-2). Bills' throw in the shot put ranks third in Division II this season.
