MAYETTA, Kan. --- The Minnesota State men's golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of the Firekeeper Open Monday.
The three-round Firekeeper Open is being held at the par-72 Firekeeper Open in Mayetta, Kan. MSU is one of 17 teams competing in the Firekeeper Open and sits in 15th place with scores of 300-301—601 (+25). Central Oklahoma leads the team standings with scores of 288-282—570 (-6). Washburn's Myles Tarvin leads the individual standings with scores of 68-69—137 (-7).
Senior
Hogan Ordal and junior
Karson Patten both finish the first two rounds in 25th place at +3. Patten shot a 73-74—147 which included five birdies. Ordal posted a 72-75-147 that included four birdies.
Senior
Leo Werschay finished the first two rounds at +9, with sophomore
Michael Johnson follow one stroke behind at +10. Werschay shot a 78-75—153, while Johnson shot a 77-77—154 which included one eagle. Freshman
Sam Swavely finished the day at +16 as he posted rounds of 83-77—160 as well.
Freshman
Paul Rezko competed independently and finished the first two rounds with scores of 92-88—180 (+36).
