SMITHVILLE, Mo. --- The Minnesota State men's golf team finished round two of the NSIC Championships in seventh place Saturday.
The three-round NSIC Championships are being held at the par-72 Paradise Point Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo. Ten teams are competing in the event. Minnesota State sits in seventh place with scores of 306-308—614 (+38). Winona State leads the team standings with scores of 294-291—585 (+9). Winona State's Max Jericho leads the individual standings at 70-70—140 (-4).
"We battled in cold and windy conditions today," assistant coach
Todd Pfingsten said. "Karson had another solid day and we look forward to tomorrow's round."
Junior
Karson Patten shot a 74 in round two and now sits in fourth place at +2 overall. Patten notched a pair of birdies in round two and shot an even 36 on the front nine.
Senior
Hogan Ordal notched a 76 in round two and is now in 24th place at +8. Ordal posted two birdies and shot a 35 (-1) on the front nine. Sophomore
Michael Johnson sits in 29th place at +11 as he shot a 78 in round two. Johnson shot par on the last 15 holes of his second round.
Freshman
Paul Rezko sits in 45th place at +18 after shooting an 81 in round two that included one birdie. Senior
Leo Werschay is one stroke behind Rezko at +19 after shooting an 80 in the second round.
