BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) announced post-season award winners for the 2025-26 Men's Indoor Track and Field season on Friday (Mar. 6). Minnesota State sophomore
Hayden Bills (Throws, Rosemount, Minn) was named NSIC Field Athlete of the Year, as well as NSIC Newcomer of the Year.
Chris Parno earned NSIC Men's Assistant Coach of the Year and
Mike Turgeon was named NSIC Men's Coach of the Year. The Mavericks won their 15th consecutive NSIC Men's Indoor Track and Field title on Saturday at Myers Field House.
Hayden Bills (Throws, So., Rosemount, Minn.) – Minnesota State
- NSIC Champion in the shot put with a mark of 18.41m (60-5)
- Ranks second nationally in the shot put in NCAA Division II at 19.13m (62-9.25)
- Ranks 41st nationally in the weight throw at 18.69m (61-4)
- Qualified for the NCAA Championships in the shot put
- First men's indoor track & field student-athlete to earn both NSIC Field and Newcomer of the Year honors in the same season
Chris Parno – Minnesota State
- Coached sprinters and hurdlers to 111 conference points at the NSIC Championships
- Coached NSIC champions in the 60m hurdles, 200m and 4x400m relay
- Helped the 4x400m relay set an NSIC record
- Athletes swept the top four places in the 60m hurdles
- Athletes swept the top five places in the 200m
- Named NSIC Men's Indoor Assistant Coach of the Year for the fifth time in his career
Mike Turgeon - Minnesota State
- Led Minnesota State to its 15th straight NSIC title, the ninth during his tenure with MSU
- Coaches 13 student-athletes that qualified for the NCAA Championships
- Named NSIC Men's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year for the eighth time
All-Conference performers consist of the top three place winners in each event and the members of the top three relay teams from the conference meet.
