MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State football team opens spring practice this Tuesday at the Blakeslee Stadium practice fields.

"Spring football is great for the development of our football team", head coach Todd Hoffner said. "It also serves as a time for our youth to grow as a college football player. In addition, it is a golden time for us to gel as a new squad heading into 2026. Our 2026 mission is to compete for an NSIC Championship!"

The Mavericks will take part in 13 practices from March 17 through April 16. The Mavericks will travel to Sargent Bluff, Iowa, on April 11 to face Nebraska-Kearney in a spring football game.

Minnesota State concludes spring practice with its annual purple and gold spring game that will take place at Blakeslee Stadium on Saturday, April 18. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.

The Pig Skin BBQ will be held following the completion of the spring game.
