MANKATO, Minn. --- The Gold team defeated Purple 50-18 at Minnesota State's annual spring football game at Blakeslee Stadium.

Mitchell Thompson threw for 150 yards and two touchdown passes. Justin Silverstein threw a 40-yard touchdown pass as well.

Brooklyn Evans led the Gold rushing attack with 23 yards. Evans also caught a one-yard touchdown pass.

Hudson Dillon led the gold receiving corps with seven catches for 123 yards and a touchdown. Braeden Male caught a 40-yard touchdown pass also, while Keats Dyslin also recorded a five-yard touchdown catch.

Cade Stingle led the Gold defense in tackles with four, while Kayode Amusan recorded a sack. Joshua Marcinkevich and Max Sheridan each returned interceptions for touchdowns, while Jefferson Mobry intercepted a pass on a two-point conversion attempt.

For Purple, Maximus Sims threw for 82 yard and recorded a two-yard touchdown carry. Braden Downs caught a 20 yard pass for Purple, while Jake Wills caught two passes for 19 yards. Carter Henderson rushed for 13 yards also.

On defense, Nathan Drumm led the Purple team in tackles with eight, while Jason Dandridge recorded four. Dandridge also defended two passes. Rashad McKinley, Saieed Hasan and Tristyn Hines each recorded an interception.

Minnesota State opens its 2026 season on August 27 as it travels to Grand Junction, Colo., to take on Colorado Mesa. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
