Mavericks Set to Host NSIC Indoor Championships

MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State track and field teams will host the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Championships at Myers Field House in Mankato this Friday and Saturday. Events begin at 9:30 a.m. CT on Friday.
 
NSIC CHAMPIONSHIPS INFORMATION
A full schedule of events can be found here. The championships will be streamed live on the NSIC Network behind a paywall. Live results are available for free here. Admission fees are as follows: $15 for adults (18 and older) and $5 for youth and students.
 
Minnesota State men's track and field, ranked No. 5 in NCAA Division II are seeking a 15th straight NSIC Indoor Championship. Minnesota State women's track and field, also ranked No. 5, won their fifth consecutive NSIC Indoor Championship last season.
 
MAVERICK WOMEN
 Miranda Lauvstad holds the No. 1 mark in Division II in long jump at a distance of 6.24m (20-5.75), set at the Mark Schuck Open and Multi on Jan. 31. Ghada Hamdani also leads the nation in triple jump, with a mark of 12.93m (42-5) set at the Chuck Petersen Open on Dec. 5. Other top-5 individual marks include Lauvstad, No. 2 in Pentathlon, Aubri Brown, No. 2 in weight throw and Ashanti Harvey, No. 4 in 60 meter hurdles.
 
Lauvstad won her second NSIC Field Athlete of the Week honor on Monday. She won the long jump event at the Maverick Open with a mark of 6.19m (20-3.75). The mark ranked fourth in Division II. Lauvstad also helped the team win the 4x400 meter relay with a time ranking 29th in Division II.
 
MAVERICK MEN
Jayden Singleton ranks second in the nation in 200 meters, with a time of 21.35 set on Dec. 5 at the Chuck Petersen Open. Hayden Bills posted the No. 2 mark in shot put on Friday at Myers Field House in the Maverick Invitational. He landed at 19.13m (62-9.75). Rinaldo Moore and Keaton Moore both rank in the top-5 for 60 meter hurdles at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
 
Senior Keaton Wattier (Osmund, Neb.) was named NSIC Track Athlete of the Week on Monday. He took first place in the 60 meter hurdles at the Maverick Open with a time of 7.87. The mark was fifth in Division II this season. Wattier also ran 7.95 in the 60 meter hurdle prelims.
 
Sophomore Hayden Bills (Rosemount, Minn.) posted a first place shot put mark of 19.13m (62-9.25) at the Maverick Open and was named NSIC Field Athlete of the Week on Monday. It was a personal best and the second best mark in NCAA Division II this season. Bills has been named NSIC Field Athlete of the Week four times this season.
