MANKATO, Minn. – 13 Minnesota State student-athletes were named recipients of the 2025-26 WCHA Scholar-Athlete Award, presented by Sterling Trophy, as announced by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
A total of 95 WCHA student-athletes representing all eight member institutions earned the honor this season. To qualify, student-athletes must have achieved at least sophomore academic standing and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher over the previous two semesters (or three quarters).
Bemidji State led the conference with 17 honorees. Minnesota Duluth, Minnesota State, and St. Thomas each had 13 recipients, while Minnesota had 11. Ohio State recognized 10 student-athletes, and Wisconsin had seven honorees.
The WCHA Scholar-Athlete selections are made with the assistance of each institution's Faculty Athletic Representative.
