#1 Minnesota State Perfect at Home in Regular Season

MANKATO, Minn. — The No. 1-ranked Mavericks put on a show inside the Taylor Center, cruising past Winona State (15-12, 12-9 NSIC) 110-62. Forcing an astounding 30 turnovers and cashing in with 40 points off those, Minnesota State (27-0, 21-0 NSIC) reached triple digits for the seventh time this season. Dominating from the get-go, the Mavericks racked up 48 points in the paint and 45 from the bench.

Senior Natalie Bremer was unstoppable, leading the Mavericks with 28 points, hitting 12 of 14 shots and nailing all four attempts from beyond the arc. The team hit a season-high .590 from the field. Adeline Kent chipped in with 11 points, five assists, and four steals. Rhyan Holmgren added 17 points and pulled down five boards, while Mackenzie Schweim had 15 points, five rebounds, and four steals. Every Maverick who hit the floor scored, showcasing the depth and balance of the squad.

The Mavericks set the tone early with stifling defense, converting nine first-quarter turnovers into pivotal points. Ava Stier got the scoring started with a 3-pointer at 9:15, and the team never looked back. Fast breaks and paint points were the name of the game, with Kent playing a crucial role in both scoring and facilitating.

Winona State couldn't keep up, as the Mavericks' defense smothered their chances. The home team's offensive prowess was clear, sinking 12 of 17 shots in the first quarter to jump to a 29–15 lead.

The second quarter was more of the same, as strong shooting and relentless defense padded the Mavericks' lead. Hannah Herzig's early 3-pointer and Bremer's hot hand kept the offense rolling, while seven more forced turnovers added to the cushion. By halftime, MSU was in command, leading 60-30.

In the third, the Mavericks capitalized on more Warrior mistakes, with Schweim grabbing two early steals. Bremer continued her scoring spree, and Kent added a fast-break layup to keep the momentum. Despite a few successful shots from the Warriors, the Mavericks' defense stayed tight, causing six turnovers and finishing the quarter up 79-44.

The final quarter saw the Mavericks firing on all cylinders. Addison Hoof's 3-pointer, assisted by Kent, set the tone, and Delaynie Luneckas' steal and assist to Natalie Mueller highlighted their dominance. Holmgren was a force inside, grabbing offensive boards and scoring key baskets. The defense stayed aggressive, forcing eight more turnovers and notching five steals, holding the Warriors at bay.

As the clock wound down, the Mavericks sealed their commanding victory, finishing with a 31-point fourth quarter and a final tally of 110-62.
