MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State senior goaltender Alex Tracy (Chicago, Illinois) was named a semifinalist for this year's Mike Richter Award, given annually to the top netminder in men's NCAA Division I hockey (since 2014).

Ten goaltenders have been chosen by a panel of voters from across the hockey community. The panel includes coaches from each conference as well as members of the national media, professional scouts and representatives of USA Hockey.

Tracy was a finalist for the Mike Richter Award last season. This year, he has started 27 games for the Mavericks and holds a 14-8-5 record with two shutouts. He has totaled 663 saves for a .923 save percentage, with 55 goals against for a 2.02 goals against average (leads CCHA).

Tracy is second among active Division I goaltenders with 59 career wins. His shutout at Northern Michigan on November 28 moved him into a tie for third place on MSU men's hockey's all-time career shutouts chart with 10 (Stephon Williams).

Last season, Tracy was named AHCA/CCM All-American Second Team West, CCHA Player of the Year, CCHA Goaltender of the Year, and a Hobey Baker Award Top-10 Finalist.

Augustana goaltender Alex Kotai was also named a Mike Richter Semifinalist this year from the CCHA. The Mavericks (15-8-5, 11-6-3 CCHA) host Bemidji State on Friday, Feb. 13 at 7:07 p.m. CT.
