MANKATO, Minn. --- Minnesota State senior defenseman Campbell Cichosz has signed a contract with the Toledo Walleyes of the ECHL. The Walleyes are an affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings (NHL) and Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL).
An assistant captain this past season, Cichosz posted career numbers in goals (4), assists (10), points (14), shots (64) and blocks (63). During his career as a Maverick, Cichosz finished 6-22—28 and registered 202 blocked shots and finished a +29.
Cichosz played in 147 games as a Maverick. This past season he played in all 40 games for Minnesota State.
“Being a Maverick is something I will miss,” said Cichosz. “Putting on that jersey on Fridays and Saturdays as a Southern Minnesota kid was special.
To my teammates, thank you for helping me grow as a player, but more importantly, as a person. To the staff, thank you for allowing me to stay and wear the logo. To the community, I have made relationships that will last a lifetime, and I will cherish those forever. Lastly, I owe my family everything, you’re the best support system I could ask for!
Once a Maverick, always a Maverick.”
Minnesota State finished the 2025-26 season with a 22-11-7 record, winning the CCHA regular season and post season championships.
