NEW ORLEANS - Minnesota State women's track and field maintained its position at No. 4 in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track & Field National TFRI on Tuesday (Feb. 10). The Mavericks scored 171.52 points at Checkpoint #3, behind No. 1 Pittsburg State (208.93), West Texas A&M (195.77) and Grand Valley State (172.90).
The Mavericks have 24 individual performances inside the national top-33.
Miranda Lauvstad holds the No. 1 long jump in the country with a mark of 6.24m (20-5.75), achieved on Jan. 31 at the Mark Schuck Open and Multi.
Ghada Hamdani is the top ranked triple jumper with a mark of 12.93m (42-5) at the Chuck Petersen Open on Dec. 5.
Lauvstad also ranks second in pentathlon with a score of 4,140 at the Mark Schuck Open and Multi. Sprinter
Ashanti Harvey ranks third in 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.35, set on Feb. 7 at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational.
Aubri Brown posted the third ranked weight throw in the country at 20.18m (66-2.5) at the Chuck Petersen Open. Harvey's triple jump of 12.37m (40-7) at the Mark Schuck Open and Multi ranks fifth.
Minnesota State women's indoor track and field hosts the Ted Nelson Classic on Saturday, February 14 at Myers Field House.
