MANKATO, Minn. – Sophomore defender
Lucie Tenenbaum has made the 25-player roster and will skate with the Swiss National Team in the IIHF Women's World Championship in Denmark from Nov. 6-16, while head coach
Shari Dickerman will be behind the bench for team USA.
Tenenbaum has skated with Switzerland twice this season in two sections of the Women's Euro Hockey Tour as she battled with other skaters to make the final roster. She is one of eight defenders who made the final roster, and one of two WCHA players on the team, alongside St. Cloud State's Laura Zimmerman.
She becomes the first Maverick to play for Team Switzerland and she joins former Maverick alumni Nina Tikkinen (2007-11), Emilia Andersson (2008-13), Lena Dusterhoft (2015-19), Anna Fiegert (2013-17) and Anna Wilgren (2018-23) who have played for their countries national teams.
So far this season for the Mavericks, Tenenbaum has played in 7 games, recording two goals and adding an assist for three points. She has 13 shots, 12 blocks, and is a +4 which is tied for the best on the team. She has been a critical part of the Maverick blue line this season, helping lead them to a 5-5-1 start. Over the last two seasons she has played in 45 games, racking up three goals and six assists for nine career points.
Dickerman has been a fixture of the USA coaching staff, winning two previous IIHF Women's World Championships (2023,2025) while also being a part of the team that won Olympic Gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics. She is in her third full season as head coach of the Mavericks and holds a career 36-45-5 record (.448), and was an All-American goaltender for Minnesota State from 2000-04.
