BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Northern Sun has named Minnesota State student-athlete
Esaba Okwaramoi its NSIC Track Athlete of the Week and
Ashanti Harvey its NSIC Field Athlete of the Week, announced on Tuesday. Both marked outstanding performances last week at the Bearson/Gathje Classic at Myers Field House.

Esaba Okwaramoi (Hurdles, Jr., Urbandale, Iowa / Urbandale HS) - Minnesota State
- Won the 60m hurdles at theÂ
Bearson/Gathje Classic
- Ran an NCA A provisional time of 8.48
- The time ranks as the seventh fastest in NCAA Division II this season
- Ranks fifth in NCAA Division II in the 60m-hurdles with a time of 8.44 ran at the Chuck Petersen Open

Ashanti Harvey (Sprints/Jumps, Sr., Hollywood, Fla. / Hallandale HS) - Minnesota State
- Finished in first place in triple jump atÂ
Bearson/Gathje Classic
- Had a career best mark of 12.20m (40-0.5)
- The jump was sixth best in NCAA Division II this season
- Was also second in the 60 meter hurdles
- The time of 8.49 would rank as the eighth quickest in NCAA Division II this season
