PUEBLO, Colo. – After a record-setting prelims performance on Thursday, the Minnesota State men's 4x100 meter relay team of

Kemarri Stewart,
Richlu Tudee and
Sam Eben Ebai ran to second place in the finals Saturday as the Mavericks closed out competition at the NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships at CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl.
The Mavericks ran the race in 39.71 seconds, behind only West Texas A&M (39.43) in the event for eight team points and First All-America status. Combined with three points from
Jalen McGee in long jump, the Mavericks posted a score of 11, which was tied for 20
th in the team standings. Pittsburg State was National Champions after accumulating 111 points, well ahead of second place West Texas A&M (66) and Grand Valley State (48).
"Our coaching staff is really proud of how well our team competed," said head coach
Mike Turgeon. "Our men's 4x100 meter relay posted the two fastest times in school history between the prelims and finals."
FRIDAY
McGee headlined men's 110 meter hurdle prelims with the 14
th best time for the Mavericks (14.03).
Sheldon McNicholas came in 18
th in triple jump for the Mavericks, after he landed at 15.14m (49-8.25) on his first attempt.
Tudee clocked the 13
th best time in 200 meter prelims with a time of 20.83, good for fifth place in heat three.
THURSDAY
The men's 4x100 meter relay team led the field in prelims with a season best time of 39.44. The Mavericks finished ahead of Grand Valley State (39.56) in heat two and set the MSU school record.
McGee was a First Team All-American in long jump after finishing sixth with a leap of 7.56m (24-9.75).
Anthony Ward also placed ninth with a jump of 7.51m (24-7.75)(Second Team All-America).
Tudee crossed the line 17
th in 100 meter prelims with a time of 10.23.
