MAYETTA, Kan. --- The Minnesota State men's golf team wrapped up competition in three-round Firekeeper Open Tuesday afternoon.
The Firekeeper Open was held at the par-72 Firekeeper Golf Course in Mayetta, Kan. As a team, the Mavericks shot a 320-308-307—935 (+71). Oklahoma Christian finished first in the team standings with a 289-290-280—859 (-5). Blake Saffell from Washburn led the individual standings with a -9 as he shot 68-68-671—207 through three rounds.
Junior
Marcus Belka led the Mavericks as he finished 81st with an 84-72-75—231 (+15), which included an eagle on hole nine during his second round. Senior
Alex Bradley finished the open with a +19 as he shot 80-82-73—235, while sophomore
Jack Schrader posted a +22 with an 80-78-80—238.
Junior
Hogan Ordal shot an 81-79-79—239 (+23), while junior
Ryan Darling tallied a 79-79-82—240 (+24).
Minnesota State continues its season at the NSIC Championships on April 17-19. The event will be held at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Mo.
