Matt Margenthaler will serve as the President of the NABC Board of Directors for the upcoming 2025-26 season. His term will run through the 2026 NCAA men's Final Four.
Margenthaler first joined the NABC Board of Directors in 2014 and served as its first Vice President last season. He assumes the role of NABC President following the 2024-25 term of Arkansas coach John Calipari.
For 24 seasons Margenthaler has guided the Minnesota State men's basketball team. He owns a 508-223 (.695) career record and is the winningest coach in program history. The Mavericks have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 14 times during his tenure including a pair of trips to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2011 and 2024. During the 2023-24 season, MSU finished with a 35-2 record as it went on to claim its first NCAA Division II Championship in team history.
In total, Margenthaler has led the Mavericks to three NCC Championships, five NSIC Championships and 22 winning seasons. He has been named the NCC Coach of the Year three times and the NSIC Coach of the Year four times. In 2024, Margenthaler was named the NABC Coach of the Year.
Minnesota State finished the 2024-25 season with a 20-12 record.
