NEW ORLEANS – Minnesota State women's outdoor track and field was rated No. 5 in Tuesday's USTFCCCA Division II National Ratings Index. The Mavericks scored 231.41, ahead of Colorado School of Mines and behind Grand Valley State. The Mavericks were the highest rated team in the NSIC.
The Mavericks have 25 individual event marks inside the nation's top 50.
Grace Johnson leads Division II in 100 meter hurdles.
Miranda Lauvstad ranks No. 1 in long jump and
Adeyah Brewster has the second fastest time in 100 meter hurdles. Lauvstad also ranks fourth in the nation in heptathlon.
MSU's 4x400 meter relay team, including
Brianna Shroyer,
Robynn Rolle-Curry,
Grace Obour and
Elizabeth Schmidt are also 35
th in the event. The Mavericks improved 16 positions in the National Ratings Index this week after competing in the Minnesota State Open at the Mark Schuck Outdoor Track & Field Complex in Mankato.
Minnesota State outdoor track and field competes at the Bryan Clay Invitational (Apr. 16-18), Pacific Coast Intercollegiate (Apr. 17), Mt. SAC Relays (Apr. 17-19), Maverick Invitational (Apr. 18) and Long Beach Invite (Apr. 18-19) this week.
