LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. --- The Minnesota State women's golf team finished in second place at the SMSU Classic Tuesday.

The SMSU Classic was held at the Wigwam Resort Blue Course (Par 70) in Litchfield Park, Ariz. The Maverick "A" team recorded a 316-324—640 (+80) to finish second in the team standings. The MSU "B" team finished in sixth place as it shot a 326-320—646 (+86). Westminster finished first in the team standings with a score of 310-328—638 (+78). Minnesota Crookston's Anaka Lysne led the individual standings as she posted a 76-77—153.

Graduate student Kelly Winter led the Mavericks with a 79-77—156 (+16) as she took second in the individual standings. Junior Ava Olson added a 79-80—159 (+19) as she tied for 10th. Sophomore Victoria Woytassek tied for 22nd place with a 78-84—162 (+22), with junior Samantha Youngquist following right behind in 25th with an 80-83—163 (+23). Freshman Emerson Garlie notched an 80-84—164 (+24) also.

Freshman Aly Blomberg led the Maverick "B" team with an 81-78—159 (+19), while junior Lauren Rebrovich shot an 81-82—163 (+23). Freshman Mila Jenniges posted an 82-82—164 (+24), while sophomore Whitney Mullenbach tallied an 82-86—168 (+28). Sophomore Emma Berge tallied a 95-78—173 (+33) also.

Minnesota State returns to action on March 31 as it takes part in the two-day NSIC Preview at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo.
