LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. --- The Minnesota State women's golf team wrapped up round one of the SMSU Classic Monday.

The two-round SMSU Classic is being played at par 70 Wigwam Golf Club Blue Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz. As a team, the Maverick "A" team shot 316 (+36) and is currently in a tie for second place in the team standings. The Maverick "B" teams shot 326 (+46) and is tied for 10th in the standings.

Westminster sits in first place as it shot 310 (+30) in the first round. Kasey Reichard leads the individual standings with a 74 (+4) after round one.

"I'm happy with how we played for our first round of the spring season, head coach Alex Schmitz said. "A few little things to clean up for tomorrow, but excited to have a chance for a fun finish."

Sophomore Victoria Woytassek led the Maverick "A" team as she finished eighth with a 78 (+8). Graduate student Kelly Winter and junior Ava Olson followed right behind in tie for 13th as they both recorded a 79 (+9), while junior Samantha Youngquist and freshman Emerson Garlie each shot an 80 (+10) to finish day one in a tie for 22nd.

Junior Lauren Rebrovich and freshman Aly Blomberg led the Maverick "B" team as they finished the day tied for 26^th place as they shot 81 (+11). Sophomore Whitney Mullenbach and freshman Mila Jenniges followed right behind as they both shot 82 (+12). Sophomore Emma Berge posted a 95 (+25) as well.
