MANKATO, Minn. – No. 1 Minnesota State women's track and field won its fifth consecutive Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship Saturday at Myers Field House seventh in program history with a dominant performance and
. MSU's 255.4 point total, the second-highest in NSIC history, topping their own record of 243 in 2020. UMary was second with 133.5 points and Augustana was third with 77.5 points.
TRACK
Ashley Overgaauw helped the team begin the second day in strong position, with a first place finish in the mile run with a time of 4:57.61 (personal best).
Then the 60 meter hurdles flexed their might, with Mavericks holding down all six of the top spots.
Grace Johnson won the event with a blistering time of 8.24 (personal best, first in Division II).
Adeyah Brewster was second in 8.28 (personal best, second in Division II) and
Esaba Okwaramoi was third in 8.43 (sixth in Division II).
Ashanti Harvey followed in fourth (8.49, personal best, 12
th in Division II), then
Miranda Lauvstad (8.50, personal best, 14
th in Division II).
Maverick runners also occupied the top three spots in 400 meter finals, with Robynn Roll-Curry first (54.29, personal best),
Eilika Lane second (54.78, season best) and
Grace Obour third (55.63, personal best).
Brewster crossed the line third in 60 meter dash finals with a time of 7.47 (personal best, 25
th in Division II) and Isabela Shephard clocked the third fastest time in 800 meter finals (2:11.79, personal best).
Roll-Curry collected first place in 200 meters with a personal best time of 24.30. Obour came across third. Overgaauw ran fourth in 3000 meters with a time of 10:04.38 (personal best).
UMary set a meet record in the 4x400 meter relay but the Mavericks (
Brianna Shroyer, Lauvstad, Rolle-Curry and Lane) were second with a time of 3:47.58.
FIELD
Stella Neophytou led the Mavericks with a first place triple jump of 12.73m (41-9.25, second in Division II). Teammate
Ghada Hamdani was second with a mark of 12.43m (40-9.50) and
Lillian Washington was third (12.35m, 40-6.25).
Fresh off her first NSIC Track Athlete of the Week honor,
Noemie Thibaud won the high jump event with a height of 1.71m (5-7.25). Washington came in second 1.71m (5-7.25).
Jocelyn Hart posted a fourth place mark in shot put for the Mavericks at 13.40m (43-11.75)(49
th in Division II).

Friday Recap
Senior
Paige Hickson topped the conference in pole vault with a mark of 3.84m (12-7.25). Freshman
Elvira Collvin was second at the same height for the Mavericks.
Senior
Adeyah Brewster was the conference champion in long jump with her distance of 6.02m (19-9.00), a season best (ninth in Division II). Junior
Mony Andersen finished atop the podium in weight throw with a season best mark of 18.41m (60-4.75). Senior
Lily Beneke was third at 17.78m (58-4.00).
Alyssa Becker (UMary) took the 5000 meter finals with a time of 16:48.80. Junior
Madison Matzek was the top finisher for the Mavericks with a fourth place time of 17:21.19.
The Mavericks set themselves up for success on Saturday in 60 meter hurdle prelims with each of the top five finishers, including
Grace Johnson (first), Brewster (second),
Esaba Okwaramoi (third),
Noemie Thibaud (fourth) and
Ashanti Harvey (fifth).
Eilika Lane and
Robynn Rolle-Curry topped the 400 meter prelims for MSU with
Grace Obour fourth (personal best). Brewster was MSU's top performer in 60 meter dash prelims in fourth position.
Isabela Shepard crossed the line second in 800 meter prelims behind Savanna Schley (UMD).
Makayla Bishop qualified eighth for the 1000 meter prelims. Rolle-Curry crossed second in 200 meter prelims for the Mavericks.

Minnesota State will await official word from the NCAA later next week to see who all qualified for this year's championships in Indianapolis, Ind. (March 13-15, Fall Creek Pavilion).
