BURNSVILLE, Minn. - Minnesota State swept Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference weekly awards on Tuesday for their performances in the Chuck Petersen Open on Friday. Senior Jayden Singleton (Cecilia, La.) was named NSIC Track Athlete of the Week and sophomore Hayden Bills (Rosemount, Minn.) was named NSIC Field Athlete of the Week.

Singleton won the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.35. The converted time of 20.98 tops NCAA Division II this season. Singleton was also second in the 60 meter dash finals with a personal best time of 6.78.

Bills took first place in the shot put with a mark of 19.09m (62-7.75). He began his MSU career ranked first in NCAA Division II in the event. The throw was also the 20th furthest shot put in Division II history. Bills added a third place weight throw with a personal best mark at 17.91m (58-9.25).

Minnesota State track and field competes next at the Bearson/Gathje Classic on January 16 at Myers Field House.
