MANKATO, Minn. - Minnesota State men's hockey was ranked No. 14 by USCHO.com and by USA Hockey/The Rink Live in NCAA Division I national polls on Monday (Dec. 8). The Mavericks (11-3-4, 8-2-2 CCHA) have been ranked as high as No. 13 this season under third-year head coach
Luke Strand. MSU split a home series with Ferris State last week, including a 5-1 win on Friday and a 4-1 loss on Saturday.
Michigan (16-4-0) retained the top position in both polls for a third straight week. Wisconsin, Michigan State, Minnesota Duluth and Denver rounded out the top five by USA Hockey/The Rink Live. In the USCHO.com poll, Michigan was followed by Wisconsin, Michigan State, North Dakota and Minnesota Duluth. The Mavericks were the only team in the CCHA to be named inside the Top-20, though Augustana, Bemidji State and Michigan State received national votes.
The Mavericks head to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for games against Augustana (8-5-2, 5-4-1 CCHA) on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7:07 p.m. CT and Saturday, December 13 at 6:07 p.m. CT.
