MANKATO, Minn. --- Three Minnesota State football players have earned D2CCA All- Super Region Three honors for their efforts on the field this season.
Senior
Nathan Gribble earned D2CCA All-Super Region Three First Team Offense honors, while sophomore
Connor Fournier claimed D2CCA All-Super Region Three Second Team Offense accolades. Freshman
Jefferson Mobry earned D2CCA All-Super Region Three Second Team Defense accolades also. Gribble will now advance on to the D2CCA All-American ballot.
An offensive lineman from West Salem, Wis.,
Nathan Gribble has started in every game on the offensive line this season and was named to the All-NSIC First Team earlier this season. As a member of the offensive line, Gribble has helped the Mavericks rush for 2,790 yards and 36 touchdowns this season. As a unit, the Maverick offensive line has allowed 12 sacks, which ranks 15th in NCAA Division II.
A kicker from Maple Grove, Minn.,
Connor Fournier has gone 16-for-20 in field goal attempts this season, including a career-long 51-yard field goal vs. Winona State. Fournier has tallied 102 points this season and was named to the All-NSIC First Team. He ranks 12th in field goal percentage (.800) and 12th in field goals per game (1.23) in NCAA Division II and 13th in total points scored (102).
A linebacker from Rio, Wis.,
Jefferson Mobry has played and started in all 13 games for the Mavericks this season. He was named to the All-NSIC First Team and earned NSIC Defensive Newcomer of the Year honors. He leads the team in tackles with 64 and in interceptions with four. Against Minnesota Duluth, he notched a season-high 11 tackles.
#21 Minnesota State continues its season Saturday at #1 Ferris State in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. (CST) at Top Taggart Field.
