MANKATO, Minn. – The No. 12 Minnesota State Mavericks (10-7-1, 4-7-1 WCHA) remain at home this weekend to host No. 13 St. Cloud State (6-11-1, 3-5-1 WCHA). Puck drop is set for 3:00 p.m. on Friday and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Mayo Clinic HSEC. Saturday features MSU's annual Teddy Bear Toss as well as Senior Day. Both games will be streamed on B1G+.

Scouting SCSU:

St. Cloud State enters the weekend with a 6-11-1 overall record following a split on the road, earning a 3-2 overtime win against No. 14 Colgate before falling 2-0 to No. 10 Clarkson. The Huskies sit seventh in the WCHA standings and 13th in the USCHO/USA Hockey national rankings. Junior Sofianna Sundelin leads the team with 14 points on six goals and eight assists, while sophomore goaltender Emilia Kyrkko has been a steady presence in net with a .940 save percentage and a 1.93 goals-against average.

Recap vs Dartmouth:

Minnesota State is coming off a strong weekend against Dartmouth. On Friday, the Mavericks generated early offensive pressure with quality chances from Lauren Zawoyski and Makayla Moran, but the first period remained scoreless. MSU broke through in the second when Mercury Bischoff converted a penalty shot for her ninth goal of the season, followed by an even-strength tally from Whitney Tuttle set up by Sophie Stramel and Lucie Tenenbaum. Dartmouth cut the lead to one late in the frame, but the Mavericks controlled the third period, sparked by Ayla Puppe's goal at 15:18. Quick back-to-back goals from Lauren Goldsworthy and Zoe Lopez extended the advantage, and MSU secured a 5–2 win.

Saturday's game saw Minnesota State deliver a dominant 5–0 victory, fueled by a four-goal second period and a 21-save shutout from freshman goaltender Kaydence Roeske. The shutout marked her second of the season and second in consecutive starts, contributing to the team's fifth shutout of the year. Lauren Goldsworthy opened the scoring with an unassisted goal, followed by tallies from senior captain Taylor Otremba, Kamryn Van Batavia on the power play, and Bischoff with her sixth goal in the last four games. Ayla Puppe added a final goal with one second remaining in regulation. Eight different Mavericks recorded a point in the win, with Zawoyski posting two assists and three blocked shots, Bischoff adding a goal and an assist, and Van Batavia contributing a goal and two assists.
Zawoyski currently ranks 13th nationally in assists per game, while Bischoff leads the Mavericks with 16 points on 11 goals and five assists this season.
 
Series History:

Minnesota State holds a 43-54-14 all-time record against St. Cloud State. The teams last met in February 2025, when the Huskies won the opener 3–1 before the second game ended in a tie that Minnesota State claimed in the shootout.
