MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State men's hockey improved to No. 14 in two NCAA Division I National Rankings Polls on Monday (Nov. 17). The Mavericks (6-2-4, 3-1-2 CCHA) defeated Lake Superior State 2-1 in overtime on Friday at Taffy Abel Arena, then won 4-2 on Saturday against the Lakers. No. 14 is the highest ranking the Mavericks have received this season.

Michigan State (9-1-0) was a unanimous choice as the No. 1 team in both USCHO.com and USA Hockey/The Rink Live polls. Michigan (11-3-0), Denver (8-3-1), Minnesota Duluth (11-3-0) and Penn State (10-4-0) rounded out the top five.

MSU's opponent this upcoming weekend, Michigan Tech received national votes. The Mavericks host the Huskies Friday at 7:07 p.m. and Saturday at 6:07 p.m. at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.
