Evan Murr (Stillwater, Minn.) tallied three assists and marked a five-point weekend to help Minnesota State defeat Lake Superior State 4-2 Saturday night to complete a CCHA road sweep at Taffy Abel Arena. Senior
Alex Tracy (Chicago, Ill.) stopped 28 of 30 shots for the Mavericks in the team's ninth straight head-to-head victory over the Lakers.

Minnesota State (6-2-4, 3-1-2 CCHA) has not lost in regulation since opening night at Omaha on October 10.

Lake Superior State (3-8-1, 0-6-0 CCHA) scored the first goal of the game at 8:30 of the opening period. The Mavericks finished killing a minor penalty assessed to
Jordan Ronn. Then Calem Mangone created space inside the left circle and wristed a shot past goaltender Tracy on the short side.

Luigi Benincasa tied it one minute and 20 seconds later. Murr fished out the puck between two defenders below the LSSU goal line. He passed it to
Jacob Bonkowski in the opposite corner. Then Bonkowski fed it in front for a one-timer. It was Bonkowski's first point as a Maverick. Knotted 1-1 after 20 minutes, the Lakers led 11-7 in shots on goal.

Murr intercepted an LSSU pass up the wall, skated to the middle of the ice and found an open
Ralfs Bergmanis, who ripped his first goal of the season from the top of the left circle 5:40 into the middle period.

Tristan Lemyre made it 3-1 just 16 seconds later after he brought the puck to the front of the net and deflected a shot to the top shelf. Murr and Bergmanis assisted on Lemyre's team-leading sixth goal of the season.

The Mavericks killed a major penalty in the early portion of the third period. Later,
Fin Williams skated the length of the ice after a faceoff win and scored on an empty net at 16:38, his second career Maverick goal. Luke Levandowski scored for the Lakers with 1:22 left in regulation and the Lakers skated 6-on-5 for the remainder of the game, but the Mavericks ceded no more ground.

Saturday marked the first three-point game of
Evan Murr's career and his third multi-point game. The Mavericks improved to 4-1-2 on the road.

MSU finished 0-3 on the power play. The Lakers went 0-4. MSU has killed 34 of 37 penalties to start the season. Andrew Oke made 27 saves for Lake Superior State. The Mavericks prevailed in 35 of 66 faceoffs.

The Mavericks welcome Michigan Tech to Mankato for a series beginning on Friday, November 21 at 7:07 p.m. CT. The Huskies (8-3-1, 5-0-1 CCHA) tied Bemidji State Friday night, then won in overtime on Saturday.
