MANKATO, Minn. — The Minnesota State Mavericks and the Bemidji State University Beavers played to a 2-2 tie on Tuesday night, with each team securing a power-play goal in regulation.
The first period opened with the Mavericks aggressively pushing forward, winning the initial faceoff and recording several shots on goal, though none found the net. A key moment occurred when
Whitney Tuttle received a two-minute penalty for tripping at 16:15, giving the Beavers a power-play opportunity. Despite the penalty, Minnesota State's defense held firm, and
Hailey Hansen successfully saved multiple attempts.
Bemidji State broke the deadlock with a goal by Morgan Smith at 8:49, assisted by Kasey Senden, leaving the Mavericks trailing. Although they created more chances, including a power play late in the period, the Mavericks were unable to convert, ending the period down 1-0.
Midway through the second period, Minnesota State capitalized on a power-play opportunity when
