BROKEN ARROW, Okla. --- The Minnesota State men's golf team wrapped up the Tulsa Cup in seventh place Tuesday afternoon.
The three-round Tulsa Cup was held at the par-72 Indian Hills Country Club in Broken Arrow, Okla. As a team, MSU shot a 285-287-300—872 (+8). Central Missouri finished first in the team standings with scores of 279-278-295—852 (-12). Harding's Jose Arzu led the individual standings with a score of 69-68-71—208 (-8).
"I'm happy with how the guys played this week," head coach
Alex Schmitz said. "We played really well today until the two-hour rain delay and then struggled a little after. But I'm still really proud of these guys. We will work hard this winter and hopefully take some momentum into the spring."
Senior
Hogan Ordal shot a 74 on the final day, to finish the event in fifth place at -5. He recorded one birdie and shot an even 36 on the back nine in the final round. Junior
Karson Patten shot a team-best 70 in the final round to bring his final score to +1 as he finished in 18th place. He notched four birdies during the third round and finished one under par on both the front and back nine.
Sophomore
Michael Johnson and freshman
Paul Rezko each shot a 78 on the final day. Johnson finished in 44th place at +6, while Rezko finished in 57th place at +8. Junior
Jack Schrader posted an 81 on the final day as he finished his tournament in 71st place at +12.
