MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State men's hockey was ranked No. 20 in two NCAA Division I rankings polls this week. Committee voters for USA Hockey/The Rink Live and USCHO.com slated the Mavericks at No. 20 after the team earned a pair of overtime ties at No. 17 Wisconsin last week.
Minnesota State (1-1-2) was the only team in the CCHA ranked this week, though Augustana, St. Thomas, Michigan Tech and Ferris State were receiving national votes. The Mavericks were ranked No. 19/20 last week.
Michigan State (3-1-0) ascended to the top spot in both polls this week with 29 first place votes by USCHO.com and 17 first place votes by USA Hockey/The Rink Live. Western Michigan, Michigan, Boston University and Penn State rounded out the top five.
The Mavericks open their home slate this weekend, hosting RPI on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7:07 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 25 at 6:07 p.m. The team will unveil banners on Friday, commemorating 2024-25 MacNaughton Cup and Mason Cup titles. Saturday, MSU honors its seniors in a pregame ceremony.
