Rhett Pitlick Joins Minnesota State Hockey

MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State head coach Luke Strand announced senior forward Rhett Pitlick (Plymouth, Minnesota) has enrolled at MSU and will join the men's hockey program for the 2024-25 season. Pitlick joins the Mavericks from the University of Minnesota, where he skated each of the past three seasons.

"We are excited to add Rhett to our team and program," Strand said. "His game-breaking ability and experience will complement our forward group and team well."

Last season, Pitlick was named All-Big Ten Second Team and tallied 19 goals and 17 assists for a team-high 36 points.

The Montreal Canadiens selected Pitlick 131^st overall in the 2019 National Hockey League Entry Draft. After playing in the USHL for the Omaha Lancers, Muskegon Lumberjacks and Tri-City Story, Pitlick skated in 30 games as a freshman for the Gophers and tallied 18 points (5-13—18).

The following year, he was one of nine players to appear in all 40 games and set career bests for goals (11), assists (14) and points (25). He also marked three points in four NCAA Tournament games and finished with a plus-17 rating.

The Mavericks begin the regular season at the University of Michigan Oct. 4-5.
