MANKATO Minn. – Minnesota State men's outdoor track and field hosted the Maverick Open #2 at the Mark Schuck Outdoor Track & Field Complex and accumulated a meet-best 300 team points, ahead of Sioux Falls (118) and Gustavus Adolphus (62).

Top performers included
James Gilbert, whose long jump ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division II this season and
Liam Byrne, who posted the top mark in the NSIC in hammer throw.

Keondre Bryant won the 100m dash with a time of 11.03 (w:0.2) with
Jalen McGee second in 11.20 (w:0.2). Armondo Colombe finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 21.61 (w:-2.1).
Thomas Rosengren took the 400 meter dash in 49.12 while
Grant Mayers won the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.69.

Jacob Bennett finished ahead of
Leif Larsen in the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:58.93. In hurdles,
Renald Pierre edged McGee with a 14.64 (w:2.0) in the 110 meters.
Chance Swenson topped the podium in 400m hurdles (55.99).

In the field,
Aiden Buendorf won the high jump with a top mark of 1.98m (6'6"). Jed Hansen posted 4.58m (15'0.25") in pole vault and Gilbert won the long jump competition after landing at 7.90m (w:0.3).

Camwrin Harris finished ahead of McGee in triple jump with a mark of 14.79m (w:0.7).
Steven Orzolek was first in shot put with a mark of 17.19m (56'4.75"). Byrne also won the hammer throw with a toss of 58.33m (191'4").

Minnesota State is set to host the NSIC Outdoor Championships May 9-11 at
Mark Schuck Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
