Mankato, Minn. – In the second day of competition at Northern State's Dewey Donat Classic, senior
Steven Orzolek won the shot put with a heave of 16.75m (54' 11.5").
Also competing in the shot put was senior
Carter Aguilera, placing third with a distance of 16.10m (52' 10"). In fourth was sophomore
Ben Wieser with a throw of 16.09m (52' 9.5"). Finishing off the podium was freshman
Justin Fretag with a throw of 15.25m (50' 0.5") to finish in sixth.
Junior
Joshua Beiswanger placed second in the men's hammer throw after a throw of 52.79m (173' 2"). Placing back-to-back was junior
Liam Byrne and Aguilera, finishing in third (52m, 170' 7") and fourth (51.39m, 168' 7"), respectively. Junior
Zachary Shaner took sixth with a throw of 49.45m (162' 3"). Finishing in ninth was Orzolek (47.02m, 154' 3").
In the javelin, Byrne took fourth after a throw of 55.42m (181' 10").
The Mavericks travel to Minneapolis, Minn. on Wednesday April 24
th for the Running on Hope Invitational.
