BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State senior golfer Anna Cihak was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Golfer of the Week following her performance at the SMSU Challenge last weekend in Arizona.
This marks the third time in her career – and the second time this season – that Cihak has been named the league's golfer of the week.
Last week, Cihak carded a 76-73—149 to finish tied for first in the event with Colorado Mesa's Cassidy Phelan. Cihak took home medalist honors by virtue of having the lowest final round in the between the two.
She finished the week tied for first in par four scoring at 4.00 and was tied for fourth in par three scoring at 3.33. She finished with scoring par or better on 26 of her 36 holes over the week and her eight birdies was tied for the most in the field.
Her efforts helped pace Minnesota State to the team title in the event.
Minnesota State returns to action April 6-7 when it travels to Waterloo, Iowa, to participate in the Upper Iowa Invitational.
