MANKATO, Minn. – Abel Christiansen ran a personal record to highlight Minnesota State men's track and field at the Maverick Premier #1 meet Friday afternoon at Myers Field House.

Christiansen's 60 meter hurdle time of 7.92 was good for second fastest in Minnesota State history behind only Myles Hunter (7.53, 2016).

The Mavericks placed first in the team rankings with 223 points, ahead of Minnesota Duluth (93), Emporia State (57), Sioux Falls (51), Concordia St. Paul (29), Gustavus Adolphus (18), Azusa Pacific (15), Wisconsin La Crosse (10), Martin Luther (6) and Saint Mary's (5).

Abel Christiansen, with a PR time of 7.92, moving up to No. 2 all-time in MSU history. On the jumps side,
Onyekachi Ukaobasi improved his lift time PR, moving up to up to No. 3 all-time in MSU history. We are looking forward to a strong showing on Saturday from our throwers with many of them throwing lifetime PR's today."

Ukaobasi, a junior recorded a mark of 15.54m (51' 0") in triple jump for first place. Junior
Jabez Reeves took home first place in the 60m dash (6.76) with senior
Shemar Miller right behind (6.84). Reeves also won the 200m dash in 21.65 seconds.

Aiden Buendorf posted a first place height in the high jump for the Mavericks (2.06m) and
Collin Windorski took the top spot in pole vault (4.81m). Men's long jump went to senior
Shemar Miller (7.19m, 23' 7.25") and
Ben Wieser placed second in shot put (16.53m, 54' 2.75").

Carter Aguilera continued to lead the Mavericks in weight throw with a top mark of 19.60m (64' 3.75").

The Mavericks return to the track Saturday at the Maverick Premier #2 at Myers Field House. The NSIC Indoor Championships take place Feb. 23-24 in Mankato.
