BURNSVILLE, Minn. – NSIC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Year were announced by the conference office Wednesday and Minnesota State was well represented. Senior Denisha Cartwright earned Track Athlete of the Year for the fourth season in a row. Freshman Victoriia Ermolaeva was named Newcomer of the Year. Head Coach Mike Turgeon was named Coach of the Year and Chris Parno was named Assistant Coach of the Year.
 
Cartwright (Sprints/Hurdles, Nassau, Bahamas) earned 30 points at the NSIC Championships (NSIC High Point Performer) and won all three events she competed in, breaking the NSIC record in each. She won the 60m hurdles for the fourth year in a row with an NCAA record time of 7.93 (third fastest time in NCAA competition this season, all levels). She also broke the NSIC record in the 200m dash in a time of 23.68 and won the 60m dash with a time of 7.23, tying her own record from the 2023 prelims.
 
Cartwright ranks first in NCAA Division II in the 60m (7.23), 200m (23.32) and 60m hurdles (7.93) and qualified for the NCAA Championships in three events and the 4x400 meter relay.
 
Victoriia Ermolaeva (Multi/Jumps, Saint Petersburg, Russia) scored 14.5 points at the NSIC Championships. She placed second in the long jump at 5.97m (19' 7"), ranking 14^th in Division II this season. She was also third as a leg of MSU's 4x400m relay team. She tied for fourth in the high jump at 51.64m (5' 4.5") and ranks sixth in the nation in the pentathlon with a score of 3,863, achieved at the Marck Schuck Open at Myers Field House.
 
Turgeon led the Minnesota State to its fourth straight NSIC Women's Indoor Championship. He also coached the Mavericks to a No. 1 ranking in the USTFCCCA Rating Index on two occasions this season. Eight student-athletes won NSIC Championships over the weekend under his guidance. Turgeon was named NSIC Women's Indoor Coach of the Year for the fourth straight season.
 
Chris Parno coached a group that scored 92 points at the NSIC Championships, including High Point Performer Denisha Cartwright to her three NSIC and NCAA records. Parno guided four NSIC Champions this season and was named Wednesday as NSIC Women's Indoor Track and Field Assistant Coach of the Year for the second time in his career.
 
Arianna Passeri (Sprints/Jumps, Rosemount, Minnesota) from University of Mary was honored as NSIC Field Athlete of the Year.
