MANKATO, Minn.--- Minnesota State will travel to Davenport, Fla., to partake in the 2024 RussMatt Florida Invitational. The Mavericks will play seven games in as many days against five different teams. The Mavericks will kick off the Invitational against Embry-Riddle University tomorrow at 5 p.m. CST. 

Last Time on the Diamond
MSU traveled to Elkhorn, Nebraska to take on UMary in its first conference matchup this season. Minnesota State split its four-game series with the Marauders scoring 44 runs on the weekend resulting in ten different Mavericks recording an RBI.

Highlighting the Mavericks offense was senior Ryan Wickman and junior Aidan Byrne as they combined for 13 hits and eight RBI. The duo has now 39 total bases in just seven games this season while also both accumulating a batting average higher than .378 on the season (Wickman- .379)(Byrne- .387)

Sophomore Louis Magers has a career day in Saturday's doubleheader pitching five innings of one-run ball while also belting his first collegiate grand slam on his first homer this season.  

The Maverick Staff
The Maverick staff went 2-2 with a 9.56 ERA this weekend against UMary. Sophomore Louis Magers and junior Sean Gamble highlight the Mavericks' pitching staff combining for only one earned run in ten innings pitched. The duo struck out six on the weekend while only giving two free passes.

Magers and fellow sophomore Aiden McGee registered the only two wins for the Mavericks against UMary.
