ST. CLOUD, Minn – Minnesota State (3-6-1, 1-6-1 WCHA) fell to No. 8 St Cloud State (7-4-2, 3-4-2 WCHA) in overtime with a final score of 3-2.
As the Mavericks began game number two against the Huskies it was a scoreless first period.
Both teams fought hard to score a goal. In the third minute of the second period
JuliAnna Gazdik found the back of the net for her first goal of the season with an assist from
Jamie Nelson and
Sydney Langseth. Shortly after in the 16
th minute, St. Cloud's Emma Gentry scored SCSU's first goal of the night.
The game was tied 1-1 heading into the third period.
Goaltender
Hailey Hansen recorded a .900 save percentage on the evening.
In the 5
th minute of the third period,
MacKenzie Bourgerie scored with an assist from Lauran Zawoyski. Four minutes later, St. Cloud State scored to tie the game again 2-2.
In the first minute of overtime St. Cloud State scored to win the game 3-2.

The Mavericks return to Mankato to host No. 2 Ohio State on Friday, November 22 at 6:02 p.m. CT.
