ST. JOSEPH, Mo. --- The Minnesota State men's golf team finished the NCAA Regional Preview in 16th place.
The NCAA Regional Preview was held at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Mo. The par 71 course featured six par threes and five par fives.
"It wasn't our best showing but still proud of how our guys battled and kept their composure," assistant coach
Todd Pfingsten said. "We look forward to a week off to prepare for our next event in Topeka."
As a team, MSU shot 304-292-304---900 (+48) over the three round event. Central Oklahoma finished first in the team standings as it shot 272-277-276—825 (-27). Missouri Western's Jeffery Johnston finished first individually as he shot 66-68-67—201 (-12).
Sophomore
Karson Patten paced the Mavericks as he shot 77-68-76---221 (+8) to finish in a tied for 37th. Senior
Alex Bradley finished in a tie for 58th with a 77-70-78---225 (+12), while sophomore
Marcus Belka finished in a tied for 72nd with a 76-77-74---227 (+14). Junior
Ryan Darling added a 74-79-76---229 (+16) also, while junior
Hogan Ordal added an 82-77-78---237 (+24).
Minnesota State continues its season on Oct. 21-22 as it travels to Topeka, Kan. to take part in the Washburn Invitational at the Topeka Country Club.
