MANKATO Minn, -- Minnesota State (2-4, 0-4 WCHA) hosts No. 4 Minnesota Duluth (5-3, 4-2 WCHA). UMD comes into this weekend ranked third in the WCHA standings. The Bulldogs enter the weekend after a home sweep over St. Thomas.

Last Time Out:

Minnesota State fell to the University of Minnesota this past weekend, dropping both games to the Golden Gophers. The Mavericks were outscored 11-4.

Sophomore Hailey Hansen and graduate student Jessie McPherson saw time in both games against Minnesota. Hansen recorded 27 saves on Friday. On Saturday, McPherson recorded 34 saves and the Mavericks forced the game into overtime. McPherson has a 2.31 goals against average this season.

Junior Whitney Tuttle leads the Mavericks this season. This weekend she recorded one goal and two assists against the Golden Gophers.

On Saturday, freshman Audrey Garton scored her first collegiate goal for the Mavericks.

Taking on Minnesota Duluth:

The Bulldogs come into this weekend with a 5-3 overall record. Minnesota Duluth is coming off a sweep against St. Thomas.

Graduate Student Clara Van Wieren leads the Bulldogs with four goals and four assists this season for eight points.

In goal, Minnesota Duluth relies on senior goaltender Tindra Holm and sophomore Eve Gason. Holm has a 3.05 goals against average and .878 save percentage. Gason has a 2.35 goals against average and a .929 save percentage.

The Mavericks are 12-89-10 with the Bulldogs all-time. The last time they met up was at Minnesota Duluth where the bulldogs won 2-1.
