HUDSON, Wisc. --- The Minnesota State women's golf team turned in a 299-312—611 en route to a 17-shot victory at the 2023 MSU-CSP Fall Brawl held at the Troy Burne Golf Club, a par-71 track. St. Kate's was second with a 307-321—628.
Maverick senior
Anna Cihak won the even posting a six-over par 69-79—148, a shot better than Winona State's Carly Moon and three shot better than sophomore teammate
Sammy Youngquist, who turned in a 75-77-152.
"I'm very proud of our women and how they grinded the last two days," said Director of Golf,
Alex Schmitz. "To have all eight of our golfers place in the top-20 is a great accomplishment."
Cihak, who was the wire-to-wire winner of the event, recorded six birdies over the last two days and registered a par or better on 25 of the 36 holes she played.
Youngquist carded three consecutive birdies on the back nine en route to her 77 today. Fellow sophomore
Ava Olson finished fifth with a 13-over par 155 thanks to a 77-78. Rounding out the team scoring for the Mavericks was freshman
Claire Schweim who shot a 78-83—161 which was tied for 12
th.
Individually, seniors
Sam Soulier shot a 79-81—160 which was 11
th and
Kelly Winter shot a 79-81—160, which was tied for 12
th. Freshman
Victoria Wotassek was tied for 15
th with a 76-86—162 while sophomore
Lauren Rebrovich as tied for 18
th with a 80-83—163.
Minnesota State returns to action next week as it travels to the Watkins Invitational hosted by Winona State University at
The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minn.
