BEMIDJI, MINN. --- The Minnesota State women's golf team shot a 311-321—633 en route to a second-place finish at the 2023 Tracy Lane Memorial Invite held at the Bemidji Town and Country Club. The Mavericks finished one shot behind North Dakota who shot a 306-335—632 and 27 shots better than third-place Concordia-St. Paul, which finished with a 330-330-660.
"The women battled through wind in the opening stretch," said Director of Golf,
Alex Schmitz. "We pushed through and scored when we could given the conditions – we came up just a shot short."
Senior
Anna Cihak was the only Maverick to score in the 70s in the second round as she turned an 77, finishing the event tied for second with a 79-77—156. Cihak finished the day with 11 pars and a birdie.
Sophomore
Ava Olson finished tied for fourth with a 76-81—157 while fellow sophomore
Sammy Youngquist was sixth with a 78-80—158.
Freshman
Claire Schweim finished tied for tenth with a 78-83—161, while senior
Kelly Winter was 12
th with an 82-81—164. Sophomore
Lauren Rebrovich finished tied for 18
th with an 82-85—167.
North Dakota's Emersyn Walker won the event with a ten-over 73-81—154.
Minnesota State returns to action Sept. 18-19 as it hosts the CSP-MSU Fall Brawl with Concordia-St Paul at the Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson, Wis.
