BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota State women’s golf team was picked fourth in the 2023-24 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll released today.

The Mavericks – who finished fourth at last year’s NSIC Championships – accumulated 93 points in the preseason poll.  Just five points separated second-place Winona State (98 points), third-place Wayne State (95 points) and Minnesota State.  Augustana was the preseason favorite with 121 points, including 11 first-place votes.  Winona State accumulated the other first-place tally.

Senior Anna Cihak was named the Mavericks’ player to watch.  Cihak, who has led the Mavericks in scoring average over the last two season, was an All-Conference pick last year after finishing the year with a 77.7 scoring average. 

Minnesota State opens the 2023-24 campaign August 28-29 at the Maverick Invitational at the Faribault Golf Club.
