NEW ORLEANS, La. --- Minnesota State junior
Denisha Cartwright has been named the USTFCCCA DII Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year for the second straight season.
Hailing from Nassau, Bahamas, Cartwright was named the NSIC Track Athlete of the Week three times during the outdoor season. At the NSIC Outdoor Championships, Cartwright would win four events including the 100m (11.30), 200m (23.30), 100m hurdles (13.04) and the 4x100 relay (45.10), while setting conference records in each event.
At the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Cartwright won a national championship in the 100m hurdles with a school record time of 12.94. She would also earn All-American honors in the 200m (23.10/2nd), the 4x100 relay (44.21/2nd) and the 100m (11.13/4th) as well.
Minnesota State finished second at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with 57 points.
