Mankato, Minn.--- Minnesota State (42-16) travels to Sioux Falls, S.D. for the NCAA Super Regional to face NSIC rival Augustana (46-18). The Mavericks will play a three-game series against the Vikings looking for their ninth trip to the NCAA Division II World Series in program history.

Facing Augustana
Minnesota State is 24-19 in its all-time series vs. Augustana. The Mavericks' last matchup with the Vikings came in this year's NSIC Baseball tournament resulting in Minnesota State eliminating AUG from the conference tournament by a final of 6-1.

They own a team batting average of .288 and a .476 slugging percentage. When pitching, Augustana sports a team earned a run average of 4.32 and an opponent batting average of .245.

The Vikings came into the NCAA Tournament receiving votes in the 2023 NCBWA Division II Top 25 rankings

NCAA Super Regional Information
Minnesota State has been a consistent member of the DII NCAA Baseball Tournament earning its 40th bid in program history. The Mavericks own a 69-67 all-time record in the NCAA regional rounds.

Last Time on the Diamond
MSU opened the NCAA Regional Tournament by topping Southern Arkansas 8-4. The Mavericks then took two of three from #10 Missouri Southern to move to the NCAA Super Regionals.  

Junior Jackson Hauge led the Mavericks offense going 8-17 registering a .471 batting average. The Minnesota State right fielder earned All-Central Region Second Team honors after dominating opposing pitching. Hauge finished regional play with three home runs, nine RBIs and seven runs scored.

Senior Dylan Gotto lead the Mavericks pitching staff with wins against Southern Arkansas and Missouri State reaching 11 wins this season tying Jon Bjelland (2014) and Jason Hoppe (2014) for MSU's single-season wins record.

The Maverick Staff
The Maverick staff went 4-2 with a 4.33 earned run average in 54 innings of work throughout the 2023 NSIC Tournament. 

MSU pitchers continued their dominance going 3-1 in regional play accumulating a collective 4.37 ERA pair with a 1.32 WHIP which is good enough for 11th best in the nation. 

Senior Dylan Gotto pitched MSU's lone complete game in tournament play allowing eight hits and three runs – two of which were earned – while striking out nine in MSU's opening victory. 

Senior closer Jack Zigan registered his eighth save against Southern Arkansas moving him into 19th in the nation for saves. He owns a 5.40 ERA through 28.1 innings of work.

As a staff the Mavericks registered 79 strikeouts and 29 walks while yielding 17 extra base hits. Opponents have hit .254 off the Maverick pitchers in 10 postseason games thus far.
