Minnesota State Set to Take Marauders in NSIC Action

Mankato, Minn.--- Minnesota State is set to travel back down to Nebraska to face the UMary Marauders in an NSIC clash this weekend. MSU finds itself on top of the NSIC standings as they hold a near pristine 7-1 conference record with a 17-5 overall record. The Mavericks will clash with the Marauders in a Saturday doubleheader at 3:00 p.m. and a noon game on Sunday, April 2nd in Wayne, Nebraska.  
Facing UMary
Minnesota State is 36-5 in its all-time series vs. UMary. The Mavericks won their last outing against the Marauders in Sioux City, Iowa on March 27, 2022, by a final of 7-6 in extra innings. This season, UMary owns a 3-4 NSIC record and a 10-12 overall record.
With a 24-27 overall record and a 16-18 conference mark last season, UMary finished 8th in the NSIC standings.
They own a team batting average of .315 and a .544 slugging percentage. When pitching, Minot sports a team earned a run average of 8.44 and an opponent batting average of .334.
Last Time on the Diamond
Minnesota State took on Minot State and Bemidji State this week in Wayne, Nebraska, and Sioux City, Iowa. The Mavericks played to a 4-1 record over the three-day stretch outscoring their opponents 55-15.
Minnesota State dropped its only game of the road trip against Minot State in the first game of its Sunday doubleheader. The Mavericks then went on a four-game tear scoring 15 or more runs in three of the four remaining games.
The Mavericks found their power this week as nine different Mavericks homered resulting in 10 homers in five games.
Minnesota State cruised to huge 17-1 and 18-4 wins against Bemidji State improving its conference record to 7-1 and an overall record to 17-5.
